So here’s the scoop for the holidays this year:
I just spent several hours “personal shopping” and analyzing these deals for you because not everything is always a good deal and I’m never going to sell you on something you don’t need.
If you haven’t seen my original review of our Berkey Water Filter and how it’s working out for us in our off-grid home, click here to read it.
The long story short is Berkey filters are an amazing way to ensure safe drinking water for your home, especially if you live with a cistern, a well, or questionable city water. It also cuts down significantly on your plastic consumption if you’re used to buying bottled water.
Berkey is offering some fantastic BIG bundles and some smaller bundles too.
The big bundles are here (you have to put in your email to see them…it’s legit and you can unsubscribe whenever you want).
The bundles are great, especially if you were already eyeing some of the accessories like the stand or the stainless steel spigot. If you weren’t angling for any of the extras, the bundles are probably not the best deal for you. That being said, the bundles are an awesome way to get a load of extras for not a lot of money.
So what are the best deals this year?
Top of the list is the the Royal Berkey (3.25 gallons).
Followed by the Travel Berkey (1.5 gallon capacity)
For reference, I own the Big Berkey (2.25 gallons).
Moment of honesty? Those two units I just listed actually give me the least amount of commission (aside from the Crown Berkey, the fluoride filters, and the Boroux tumblers, which are all great but probably not what most of you are really after, in my honest opinion). I’m not getting anything extra for these two items.
The reason I say those are the best deals? Mathematically speaking, you get the biggest bang for your buck.
For example, the Royal Berkey is worth $305 by itself and for less than the cost of the stainless steel spigot they’ll send you the spigot, the stand, 6 bottles, AND the fluoride filters. The Royal actually gives you the best deal here, followed by the Travel Berkey (though the math isn’t quite as great, it’s still a spectacular deal).
I don’t think the Big Berkey’s bundle is as robust. In fact, it’s actually more expensive than the Royal. That’s nuts considering it’s a smaller unit. I mean yes, you still get a TON of extras for less than you’d pay for it all together, but that’s only a good deal if you were already going to get all of that already.
If you want the best deal on the Big Berkey:
I’d recommend getting either the smaller stainless bundle or just a stand-alone unit. We got the stainless bundle and use those cups every single day. I personally think water tastes better in a stainless steel cup and my kid can’t break them, so there’s that.
I’d say the same for the Royal Berkey stainless bundle, which basically gives you all of the extras for $2 more than the price of just the unit. That’s insane. If you want the fluoride bundle though, definitely get it through the “secret” link where you have to put in your email. It’s cheaper there.
The only other deal I’d say to grab while you’re there is the Black Berkey Primer.
When you get your Berkey, you have to “prime” the black filters to make them ready for use. To do this, you typically hold it up to your tap with the special included primer button and force the tap water through it. That’s assuming you have healthy water though. We don’t have tap water I can trust, so the primer makes it super easy to get the filters ready with a bottle of water. If you’re in a similar situation, grab a primer while they’re on sale.
Have Berkey questions? Let me know! I’d be happy to answer questions, take pictures or videos to show you, etc. I know you want to cover your bases when you make a purchase like this so I’m happy to help. I researched for MONTHS before I bought mine so I totally get it. Email me at email@example.com or hit me up on Instagram or Facebook.
Side note: I’m an affiliate for Berkey because I bought one (i.e. with my own money…I wasn’t given one to promote it) and I love it so much I often joke that I’ll bequeath my estate to it. Living off-grid, it’s been a HUGE lifesaver for me and my family. When you buy a Berkey or any accessories through my links, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Same goes for other affiliate links I share. Same for other bloggers, YouTubers, influencers, whoever you follow. For me and my family, it’s a small way to support our homestead and the projects I have in the works here on the blog.
